hustling and bustling
These last weeks have been busy for us. We have been running around doing errands and all sorts of things. After a while we decided to take it easy and walk around Lake Anne park. At forty years old, Lake Anne is the first village center developed in community of Reston, and Washington Plaza is at the heart of Lake Anne.
Before going home we stopped by at the latino store to buy a some of my cooking ingredients, but we ended up buying more. I got bags of chicharones (chicharon), elititos (cornic), and ripe mango! Yummy!
4th of July
A late post from July 4th celebrations. We joined the crowd and watched the spectacular fireworks display.
While waiting we busied ourselves and cooled off with a cotton candy flavored popsicle. As you may noticed we hadn't carried a chair or blanket to sit on, we totally forgot about it!
The fireworks
These pictures didn't do a good justice of the fireworks, believe me it was more than that :)
The crowd
We noticed that Nothern VA is now a multi-racial community (if it was like that before, we never knew). The area where we were seated was composed of latinos, indians, asian, middle easterners, jews, blacks, and of course whites.
